I’m a UX writer, working across copy, UX writing and design to craft experiences for your customers. I started my career in bustling London agencies before heading to Berlin and working freelance, learning a little German, navigating the bureaucracy of the German tax system (not fun) and consuming a lot of Currywurst and Weissbier (definitely fun) along the way. I then moved to Stockholm in Spring 2021 to start a new adventure in the north.
When I'm not dreaming up solutions for users, I'm either making music, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or writing fiction (when I haven't had enough of words for one day).
Traditional copywriting is just a part of the role, crafting compelling words to reach your audience and inspire action in your current brand voice – or your new one.
We guide customers through the digital world these days (as much as sell to them). A compelling experience can say more than words.
A UX writer is embedded in the design process from the start. I'm comfortable with design tools, wireframing and prototyping – I even designed this site!
Crafting gripping experiences for customers isn't simply about the power of words: it's as much to do with the design process, how users interact with a product, and how they are thinking, feeling, and taking action. To create the best experiences, I follow a tried-and-tested process.
Discovery is the start of the journey. Finding out what users want and need is how I work out what's required and what direction ideation should take.
Okay, so we have a problem. How do we solve it? Emotive copy? An infographic? Solving the problem is the objective, how that's done is always open.
This is where I start to wireframe, content block and the solution starts to take shape. A rapid and agile process ensures we're not wedded to just one solution.
User testing, copy analysis, messaging, you name it. At this stage I define and refine the solutions with the tools at my disposal.
Building in a process for continuous testing and improvement. A solution can always be streamlined and improved, now and in the future.
Success is built on a solid foundation. Having the tools and processes (like this one) ensures we're ready to do it all over again on the next project.
